Historic Farm Wedding at Hope Glen Farm Wedding, Cottage Grove, MN

Lindsey and I made the trip up from Illinois for this one, and honestly we lucked out with perfect weather and beautiful light all weekend. Erika and Josh are just easy people to be around, and their wedding party matched that energy the whole day. No stress, just a lot of laughing.

The color palette was a nice surprise. Instead of the usual matchy-matchy bridesmaid dresses, Erika went with a mix of mauve, rust, and gold satin gowns. Different shades all worked together against the greenery at Hope Glen Farm. Josh went a different direction too, trading the typical navy or black for a dark green suit that looked sharp all day.. The Cutting Garden kept the florals classic with white roses and baby's breath which balanced out all that color perfectly.

And can we talk about the robes? Erika and her bridesmaids got ready in champagne colored robes, heart-shaped sunglasses and all, and it made for some of our favorite candid shots of the morning, you'll spot them scattered through the gallery.

We have to make one shout out to the caterer, Apples 2 Apples. The said the one thing every photo/video team loves to hear all day, "we have a place for you to eat and your food will be ready well before speeches start". Wow, they totally get it and know how important it is for us to eat before we don't have a chance to sit down again for the rest of the night. The food was spectacular as well (just look at the photos).
